Eddie Hearn has given his opinion on some of the potential fights on the horizon for Devin Haney, following his win over Vasiliy Lomachenko this past weekend.

Hearn promoted Haney for a large portion of his earlier career, before he moved over to Top Rank to land a shot at the undisputed lightweight title last year.

In a recent interview with iFL TV, Hearn insinuated that Haney should swerve a fight with countryman Shakur Stevenson, and instead said a fight with recently crowned WBA light welterweight world champion Rolando Romero would perhaps be more favourable.

“I think he should limit himself to two fight deals, because there’s so many fights he could take.”

“If I’m him, I want to fight Rolando Romero for the WBA title at 140lbs. Because he’ll fancy that fight and he’ll smash Romero.”

“He’s not going to be wanting the Shakur Stevenson fight, because it’s not that big and it’s a huge risk. I would think he might fancy the ‘Tank’ fight and I think he’s got a great chance in that fight. I think he’d love the Ryan Garcia fight, and I’m not sure how he’d feel about the Regis Prograis fight.”

“Devin’s capable of winning or being competitive in most of those fights.”

‘The Dream’ successfully defended his WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO world lightweight titles this past weekend with a unanimous decision win over Lomachenko, in a close fight that many observers felt could have gone either way.

Having made no secret of the fact the cut down to 135lbs is a tough one for him, it remains unclear whether or not Haney will look to defend his titles or vacate and move up in weight.
