Among the mouthwatering match-ups in Cape Town on Saturday will be the battle between Libbok and Smith to impose their respective team’s gameplan on the opposition.

Both Libbok and Smith are known for an expansive approach to the game, perfectly fitting the Stormers and Harlequins’ desire to attack.

“He [Marcus Smith] is a special player,” Libbok said when asked about the dual.

“It will be a massive contest and a huge battle – especially for myself but also for him.

“And [I am] obviously looking forward to it.”

Libbok made his Test debut during last November’s tour of Europe and helping the Stormers progress through the Champions Cup will go a long way to helping his World Cup ambitions.

“At the moment all I think about is to perform well for the Stormers,” Libbok said. “I just want to put my best foot forward each week for the team and whatever happens after that it, happens.

“But my focus is to be at my very best for the Stormers.”
